2021 Charity Challenge

Hurray! Guys! It’s time! The time has finally come for the 2021 O’Sullivan Charity Challenge! This year we’re raising money for CAMH, supporting mental health research and care.

If you’d like to donate, you can do so here.

As you may (or may not) know, I’ve been openly confronting anxiety and depression in the last few years and this is a cause that’s near and dear to my heart. Throughout the month I plan to share more about my story (I had posted on this blog previously and I encourage you to check out that post), and Rachel will share a bit about what it’s been like from her perspective. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here.

So what’s involved with the challenge? Starting yesterday (Monday November 8th) through to December 12th, Rachel and I will be playing board games every single day. There’s two things we’re working towards: 1) raising money for charity and 2) the family gaming trophy.

Why board games? Board Games have played an important role in combating my mental health challenges. I have been extremely lucky and made some amazing friends playing board games, and those friends have helped get me out of the house, keep me smiling and keep my mind active and pointed in healthy directions. Board Games have proven a framework to work my brain and keep me free of the negative distractions that can pull me down.

Competition Details

For those curious here are the full rules of the competition:

  • Every week there will be 5 recorded games
  • There are 5 game weeks, the winner of a given game week is the person who wins at least 3 games that week.
  • The first person to win 3 game weeks will be crowned the champion
  • Games for a given game night are selected by the loser of the previous game night

Last year I managed I continued my brave fight back against Rachel, after she dominated the first few years of the competition I’ve now managed to put my name on the trophy two years back to back. Rachel is very determined to put an end to my streak! Follow along and join us daily for updates on the challenge.

We’ll have blog posts daily throughout the charity challenge, so check back often! Thank you all for supporting us once again!
